2010 was a big year for Tatar Art Projects, it brought exciting projects and a move to our beautiful new location within Klaus. Located in Toronto’s King Street East Design District, our hybrid space allows us to showcase the work of artists we represent amongst some of the world’s most cutting edge modern furniture and design.

Looking forward to 2011, we are excited to establish new relationships, while constantly strengthening our bond with our long-standing clientele.

Klaus, is a long respected manufacturer and purveyor of modern design - their showroom, established in 1968 by Klaus Nienkämper SR, quickly became a hub and meeting place for architects, artists, designers, and lovers of everything modern. The Nienkämper Furniture Company is one of North America’s most respected manufacturers of modern furniture and classic pieces. The studio (our new location), built in 1845, has become a beacon and showroom for stand out pieces of design history, now owned and operated by Klaus JR, the family’s unique perspective on design and its history has made the store a contemporary museum, showcasing innovative and classic pieces for corporate, hospitality and residential environments. A visit to the studio, located at 300 King St E, will be sure to excite the senses with new light installations by companies Moooi, Droog, Tom Dixon, and new furniture by German manufacturer e15.

Tatar Art Projects has taken on the challenge of curating, showcasing, and integrating contemporary art pieces amongst Klaus’ impressive inventory of modern design. We have forged an exciting relationship with the historical design studio, in hopes that our new hybrid space will allow for a refreshing view of our long-standing relationship to art and design. Come by and visit our showroom where we are currently showing new work by artists Karen Gunderson, Adriene Veninger and Aleksandra Rdest.
